How do I just download iOS to my Mac/iTunes?

I have 4 devices to update. I surely do not want to download the software 4 times, or do I?

Everything I read I have to have a device plugged into itunes/mac to get the download, or just do the OTA, which seems silly.

Am I missing something here?

are the devices the exact same kind, by model number? you can download the IPSW file. just google it since posting the actual link is a no no. imdzl's website should have them.

dictoresno brings up a good point. I am assuming you don't have all the same devices, though. If they're each different, (5 vs 5S, GSM vs CMDA, etc) you'll need to update each individually. Otherwise, follow dictoresno's advice.
