Hi,

I would like to know if my hd is failing....because I get a lot of multicolor cercles for simple operations....is there a program I can download or anything?

thank you

First, backup up your data. Then open Disk Utility in the Utilities folder. Click on your drive. Down at the bottom of the window you'll see a listing labeled 'S.M.A.R.T Status". If it says Verified then your drive may not be dying. If it says Failing then your drive is dying.

Important Note: S.M.A.R.T. can be wrong. It may say verified but the drive could still be failing. So backup you data.

BACK UP ALWAYS

secind if opening programs gets extremely slow

if you start your mac and a white screen with a file folder and a question mark on it

you hear a disk ticking inside your computer

BACK UP EVERYTHING ALWAYS

time machine is brilliant you can backup and get a new hd and migrate the **** back as though it never left =D haha its pretty awesome my HD crashed suddenly last week after 4 years of intense use =D haha
