In android the phone says it’s fast charging.

My iPhone 8plus is compatible with quick charging but if i place it on a wireless charger with the appropriate power adapter i have no clue if my iPhone is fast charging.

Any clue how? Thanks

Since Apple hid the charging current info (that previously was available before iOS 10) there isn't a way to see the charging current that's going into the phone (gee, thanks Apple).

But you can do a test to find out what charger puts out the most juice - time it.

Bigger chargers will charge an iPhone faster than the dinky 5 watt charger that came in the box.

Discharge the phone to 50% (nice round number) then turn on airplane mode so the phone doesn't get distracted, set auto lock to never (so the display stays on continuously, then charge it up to 70% while timing it. Don't use the phone during the test except to look at the lock screen. Do that test with both the 5 watt charger (for a baseline) and your other chargers.

Don't time the test above 80% because the charging circuits inside the phone start tapering the current. A tiny charger and a big charger will charge the phone at about the same speed once the charge level hits about 80%.

Thanks also it’s like 0-50% charge in half hour

Haven't tried but I will tomorrow if it fast charges with 0-50 in 30 minutes..

No indicator on phone itself to see if it’s quick charging.

Check your wireless charger. If your wireless charger specs is 7.5w or greater, your fast charging.

Note: Anything above 7.5w doesn’t charge any quicker because it’s the phones limitation. So getting a 10w charger isn’t going to lessen the duration it takes to fully charge.

Are we conflating wired and wireless charging speeds here?

New iPhones support faster cable based charging and wireless charging.

Wireless charging was initially 5w and was increased to 7.5w with appropriate charging pads...

Wireless is still slower than using an iPad charger which is 12w.

I tried the yootech wireless pad from amz with a quick charger 3 but it’s not charging fast..

Do u think i can connect the qc 3 charger directly to my 8 plus and it will charge fast?

I tried an android with the qc3 charger and sure enough it is fast charging

When I connect my iPhone 8 Plus with the 29W power adapter and the USB-C cable (for true fast charging), the phone makes two "pong" sounds.

When I connect the phone with the stock 5W power adapter and the stock USB-A cable, the phone only makes one "pong" sound.
