I have a Mac SE with an internal hard drive and 1 floppy drive. The floppy is busted and I wanted to put some files and software on the SE. I have an external Micronet SCSI 270 MB hard drive to do that with. But it wont work on an SE. Norton Utilities on the Mac SE says it isnt the right format. So I plugged it into a PowerMac 7200 running 8.6 and it cant format it to anything besides the DOS format. I put OS 7.5.3 on the Hard Drive and was going to select the external drive as the startup disk on the SE. But it wont let me select it because it is a bad format. Can anyone help me with this or is there another way to put the files on or update the OS on the SE??

Hi,
I don't think the SE30 / OS7.5 will accept a DOS formatted disk as a startup disk.

You'll need to get it formatted to an Apple friendly format. Maybe you can find a utility to format the drive on your 8200, doesn't it work in Norton utilities?
