I have been asked by my church to publish our sermons on iTunes as podcasts. How do I do this?

I have the sermons in MP3 format. We want the podcasts to work in such a way that someone can subscribe to them, etc as normal.

Thanks

A podcast is basically an RSS feed with a file enclosed. There are many programs that will assist you in creating the RSS file. Check versiontracker.com for a listing. I do a podcast, but I do by hand and it is iTunes Compatible.

To list it on iTunes, it is a Simple for you fill out on the iTunes Store.

Thanks. Could you give me an example of how to do it by hand? Thanks

Since you have a Mac, I'd strongly recommend using Garageband to make your podcast. It's practically made for it these days. Plus, there are plenty of guides on getting it produced and distributed. Start there.

Thanks, I hadn't thought of Garageband although I don't have it yet as I am using a retail version of Leopard and my Tiger discs only had iLife 06 on so haven't bothered installing it.

Will give it a look when iLife comes this week.

Take a look at http://www.tegianzone.com/rick/podcast.xml, then download the file to your comptuer to see what each entry looks like.

Thanks. I will give that a look. Can I just upload it to my churches website as normal then direct iTunes to that when submitting it?

Thanks
