how do i make an alias?

remember me? unforunately, the saga continues.

how do i make an alias?

i click a folder, the make alias link is not there. I try to drag and apple-alt key but nothing happens. i go to the file menu , but the make alias option is greyed out.

Any ideas?

I'm desperate against time here.

I'm the admin on this computer. The drive is a mac os x journalled drive. I've no idea why this is happening.

Any other ideas?
