How do I make Middle Mouse Button open Dashboard

I just got a new mouse, it's the Targus Bluetooth Laser mouse for Macs and I love the mouse but I can't get the middle mouse (3rd mouse) button to open dashboard, it just does 3rd button actions (like scrolling assistant in firefox etc lame).

I downloaded steermouse but it didn't recognize the mouse... any help?
