How do I make my desk top fit my screen?

When I start up my MacBook Pro, my desk top does not fit the screen. It's smaller. How do I get it to fit the 15" screen? Please give me step by step...Thanks

If you're trying to get programs to fit the screen you need to use the bottom right corner and move in and out or side to side.

You can drag the small screen around to the top left corner then use the bottom right corner to expand out.

Do you mean the black border around the screen? That's not part of the screen itself and cannot have anything displayed on it. Pardon my assumption if that isn't what you meant.
