How do I make my watch and car Bluetooth work together?

I can't ask Siri on my watch to make a call and have it work through my car Bluetooth. It would be so much easier than pulling my phone from my pocket and making the request on the phone. Am I missing something about the setup that would allow me to request calling a contact on the watch but having it work hands free on the car system.

I can't ask Siri on my watch to make a call and have it work through my car Bluetooth. It would be so much easier than pulling my phone from my pocket and making the request on the phone. Am I missing something about the setup that would allow me to request calling a contact on the watch but having it work hands free on the car system.

When I ask on my watch, the command is sent to the phone which is paired with the car. The call is heard thru Bluetooth with the phone being the one connected with the car, not the watch.
