Ok, so I just got my imac out of the box and I'm using it for the first time. I'm using the Safari browser right now and it is rather annoying because it is not filling my entire widescreen. Does anyone know how to change the settings? I can't figure it out. Thanks.

Make a bookmark. Place it in your bookmarks bar. Name it appropriately.

Change the location (of the bookmark) to:

javascript:self.moveTo(0,0);self.resizeTo(screen.availWidth,screen.availHeight);

(Note: You have to auto hide the Dock to make it go totally full screen.)

...ok, I'm trying to cut and paste that link... However, I'm trying to do it by right clicking and copy and paste...doesn't work on a mac. How do you copy text?

Command+C to copy, Command+V to paste. Or if your using the Mighty Mouse (one button), hold down the Control button on the keyboard and then click the highlighted text.

Also, down in the lower right of the Safari window, right below the scroll bar, there should be a triangle shape made of three angled lines. Click and drag that corner to your desired window size.

It's not that I necessarily would but my husband would. We got the large screen so he could see it better...but then the browser is about as big as it was on my 17" screen so it kind of defeats the purpose. I'm just wondering if there was a way to do it...apparently I have to figure out copy and paste first.

Quite awesome. Thx for this hint!

Thank you sooooo much!! I finally got it into the bookmark - works GREAT!!!

Why does it matter? I run in this mode when viewing photography online. I can think of 1000+ reasons to run in Safari in full widescreen.

It doesn't matter, no. Just a question. I've never run across a website that looked better (or was easier to use) at full screen rather than a more appropriate size. Then again, if this is a laptop, I understand.
