How do I make summerboard themes with paint?

When I try to make a summerboard theme and use iphonelist to get it on my ipod touch, only the wallpaper shows up. I follow all the 320 x 480 stuff and whatever the dock and minidock layout is, but it doesnt work. But when I try to make icons it doesnt even show up. Please help me or provide me with a link.

Easiest way would be to look @ other ppls SB themes and take the pngs and mod them so it works
and in SMBPrefs turn theme dock,icons and etc... on
