I'm trying to move some files (eg screensavers etc) into my 10.2 system/library folders but keep being told these cannot be modified. Obviously I'm lacking some basic knowledge here! Can somebody help?

Thanks!

Are you loged in as a user with Administrator Privliges? If not anything in the /library folder wold be lock and nothing can be modified.

...I think that is right

if you are admin and you can't change it, just click on the folder and get info (apple-i) and go to the ownership and permissions menu. From there, just click on the lock, type in your password, and select your user name. Then select read and write. Then select apply to all enclosed items.

if you are not admin, instead of using the main library, just use the library in your user folder.

hope that helps..

Thanks very much, that worked. I've got it all sorted now!
