Hi all,

I want to move mail from a G4 APG 450 running OS X 10.4.11 to a Mac Pro running OS X 10.5.

Can I just copy the folder user/library/mail/mailbox on the G4, burn to a disk and move it to mail in OS X 10.5? Or do I need to do something more... involved?

I’ve searched for answers. All I find talks about exporting to a different mail client. I want to use apple mail, but move from Tiger to Leopard on a different computer.

Thanks for any help,

you should be able to go into User/Library/Mail and copy the mail folder over. that should include all your messages. then go to User/Library/Preferences and copy the com.apple.mail.plist over as well into the appropriate locations on the new machine.

again, this *should* work without a problem. just be sure to have a backup first just in case.

Thank you PlaceofDis

I'll try this tomorrow and see how it works. This is the answer I was hoping for.
