How do I move my iPhoto library?

okay so basically I am taking everything off my mac in pieces and completely re installing OS X for a fresh re-boot and I do not know how I can 'backup' the entire 13,000 set of photos so when I re-boot my mac I can put them all back into iPhoto? any help people? please? Thanks

Do you have an external hard drive? The Apple document Move your iPhoto library to a new location. To move your iTunes Library follow the steps in the CNET blog post How to move an iTunes library to an external drive.
