I can get up to $250 back for my iPhone X.

I am on T-Mobile.

I will NEVER BUY another locked phone again, especially the Dark Star that is ATT.

It looks like I can buy a pre-activated phone on T-Mobile. Or I can buy an unlocked phone that I ASSUME I have to go to a local T-Mobile store to activate and turn in my old phone(?).

What do I do?

Always buy the unlocked version. All you have to do is take out the sim card from your previous phone and put in your new phone. Turn on and enjoy.

I think I just posted the same question as you. I am with T-Mobile as well. Moving from a xs Max to hopefully a 12 pro max. Will watch your thread to see if you get replies I don’t.

Regarding baypharm reply above.... someone posted a thread I think saying previous SIM cards will not work in iPhone 12. Not sure if they were correct or not.

edit: I think that person was mistaken. Looks like they were reading something talking about a previous style SIM card. Not sure how far back that SIM card was used but probably before our models.
