Can I just plug a normal white audio cable into the headphone port and then plug the other end into the white port on the TV that corresponds with the S-video? I just want to play movies on my TV with my laptop but my TV doesn't have an optical input. Thanks!

You need a DVI to S-Video/Composite converter which is available in the apple store... That's the only downside of the MacBook Pro Connectivity; on the PowerBook G4 you had DVI and S-video out...

Apple DVI to Video Adapter

Use the DVI to Video Adapter to connect the DVI port on MacBook Pro, Power Mac G5 or Mac mini to any S-video or Composite enabled device.

Price: $19.00

i believe you may need an adapter, that goes from mini plug to RCA (red and white) plug the mini end into ur MBP then plug the RCA into whichever tv input.
