In OS 9, you can have your Mac play nify little sounds by selecting "Platnium Sounds" under "Appearance" in the Apple menu. How do I activate it in OSX? Thanks.

You can't there isn't any sounds in X.

But there is 'Xsounds' from unsanity, check versiontracker for it.

xSounds

I've just installed it--works like a charm. Here's the link in case anyone's interested:

www.unsanity.com

Click on xSounds.

Thanks for the advice!

dude...

"Xounds is not free. It is distributed as a shareware. Unregistered version has no features removed, but it will function only within one hour per each login."

ahh man.

I decided to pay the $7

Well, I don't like to pay for things that I think should have been included with OS X. But you know what? I'd rather for over $7 for the software to a small company like Unsanity that needs every dollar it gets rather than some gigantic corporation. Besides, if you think about it on a per/monthly usage, I've paid less than 60 cents to use the program if I plan on using it for a year.

I think that's a fair price.

Click. Boop. Zip

My titanium sounds are back... it remains to be seen if I will take the time to pay for it
