Hi all

My brand new Mac needs to be recovered. I can’t use the normal command+R due to an error when installing High Sierra (something about could not create APFS preboot volume) so I’m trying the internet recovery option.

I have selected my WiFi network from the list, and the system must already know the password as it didn’t ask for one. However, I’ve no idea how to proceed from this screen after selecting my WiFi network. All I see is a spinning globe icon and the WiFi network selection box. How do I proceed from here?

Many thanks.

M.

This is the screen I see and I don’t know how to proceed from here

I do yes. And I have had to use that other Mac to create a bootable USB stick contained the High Sierra installation. That has finally worked. I don’t know why it was so difficult to reinstall!

I've come to the conclusion that creating the USB flashdrive installer is "the way to go" when it comes to doing a system install.

It just seems to go easier that way, with fewer "complications", etc. ...
