How do i put my safari cookies aside? Yes funny title i know but not off topic.

I dont want to delete my safari cookies i want to keep them but not let safari use them, i have cookies for over 7,000 websites. Can i move them to some dummy folder and let safari think that i have deleted them?
This works with almost all caches and preferences so cookies should be the same right?

There is a cookies.plist file in ~/library/cookies.
You can right click on it - get info & check the 'lock' box. As far as i know - that will stop the cookies being updated.

I moved it and safari still has my cookies.

Have to quit Safari before moving cookie file since the cookies are in memory for the active Safari instance(s).
