Trying to help my daughter with a school project where we need to put several 20 second samples of AAC protected songs on disc. How do I do this?

You can select the songs in iTunes and press cmd+I or right click and press Get Info.

In the window that opens you can go to "Options" and specify the start and stop time. You can use this to specify the sample you want.

When you burn the songs via iTunes it respects that option and only burns the part of the song that you have specified.
