i was having problems with time machine not recognizing my external hard drive as my time machine hard drive anymore. in an attempt to fix the problem i clicked on the "Change Disk..." button in the system preferences of time machine and clicked on the external hard drive that i have been using for nearly a year.
when i did that time machine made a new file on my external drive and started a new list of backups. all of the old backups are on the external drive but when i open the time machine program it only lists the backups that have been preformed since i made the change in system preferences. i need to reinstate the folder that contains all of the old backups as my actual time machine backups folder so that i can view all of my old backups

does anyone have experience with this or know how to help?
