Hey, so I finally got my first mac and I'm quite satisfied with the overall experience.

But I do have a little problem with iBooks. I used to have an iPad some time ago and I had downloaded several eBooks before i sold it. Now, my ibooks library is full of books that i can't delete... is there any way to get rid of those that i don't want?

Once you've downloaded a book (free, or paid), you "own" it, just the way you do with music from iTunes. The cloud icon indicates that the books you've previously downloaded (on the old device) are available for download. They are not currently on your computer.

If you'd rather not see them, go to the iBooks View menu, and de-select "Show Purchases in iCloud."

I was aware of the fact that they are not on my computer, it just bugged me that it was cluttering my library. Thanks for the advice! :)
