I have all my DVDs ripped to my mac and play them from itunes and everything has been fine on my mac since 2008. Recently though, I've had problems with a handful of movies where a white bar appears on the right hand side of my movie, as if it weren't displayed in the correct resolution.

I know it's not a problem with the file as it plays fine in VLC, so it must be an itunes/quicktime codec problem.

Please could someone tell me how I can restore apple official codecs and where third party ones might be stored so i can get rid of them and have my videos play correctly in iTunes again?

Thanks in advance. :)
