How Do I Rip DVDs Bought From Other Regions

i was given a few DVDs that was bought in other regions.

i don't care to always change the region, once i want to watch the DVDs. especially when i am only allowed to change the region 5 times.

how could i rip the dvds? mac the ripper is having a hard time reading the discs.

i was unlucky to have used up all my 5 region changes on my MBP
but ...

if you search for alternative firmware for your superdrive/combo you might find it has a region free

my MBP does not however so i'm stuck using Region 2 DVD's

Which version of MacTheRipper are you using? I've found DVD Fab Decrypter to be a good alternative on Windows.

i am using mactheripper 2.6.6.

MTR 2.66 won't work. You need to get the latest version, 3.14m.

I'm surprised that there are still so many users running 2.66. That's more the likely the reason you're having problems.
