Hi
I'm just trying to take some screenshots for the Mac App Store for my new app, however I'm having trouble with the size of the image (dimensions). Baically, I can't get a natural screenshot of the app at the dimensions required by the Mac App Store.

iTunes Connect says my screenshot's dimensions must be:
Code:
1280x800, 1440x900, 2880x1800 or 2560x1600

wheras my iMac offers me the screen resolutions of:
Code:
2560x1440, 1920x1200, 1920x1080, 1680x1050, 1600x1200, 1600x900, 1344x756, 1280x1024, 1280x720 ....... etc (the list goes on).

None of the dimensions offered by the computer match the dimensions for the app store. I want to take screenshots of the app with the desktop behind, so can't just resize the window of the application.

Also, if I did just want a screenshot of the application, how would I resize the window to be the perfect size for the screenshot?

Thanks,

Sam

Obviously, that's because your iMac has a 16:9 aspect ratio and the App Store wants them in 16:10 aspect ratio.

Set it to a 16:10 aspect ratio and scale them using your favorite image manipulation program. 1920x1200 would be a good choice and downscale to 1280x800 or 1440x900.

Hi
Ok - sorry if this is obvious, but I have looked and can't find how do set the iMac to this aspect ratio. How do I do it? Not in display section (Mountain Lion).

You just choose a resolution of the proper aspect ratio. As I told you, 1920x1200 is 16:10. You don't select an aspect ratio.
