How do I set an application to default?

With the new update to Transmission I decided to dump the clunky Azureus. I want to make it my default application for opening torrents, but for some reason my Mac keeps reverting it back to Acquisition (what it became after I deleted Azureus) everytime I restart it. I put it on default by right clicking, and checking the box for "Always Open With" but that doesn't seem to do it. How can I fix this?

Choose a torrent file. Go to info and select new app with "Open with..." then click the Change All button.

Delete /Users/you/Library/Application Support/Azureus
