How do I set it so when I close my mbp, it does not go to sleep?

Is there someway I can make it sleep only if it's been closed for like 1 minute or something?


I switch rooms sometimes and want to close it to take to the next room without going to sleep and signing off the internet and ichat and stuff...

Well, you really shouldn't be moving it around a lot while the hard disk is spinning in the first place, so the computer going to sleep is actually something you should be doing when moving it a lot. But if you really don't want it to go to sleep while you close the lid, then you should check out InsomniaX.

Since this is done at a hardware level, I don't think you can do this. Just avoid closing the display completely.

If you're just going to the next room, why not just leave it open and carry it that way? It doesn't hurt it, as long as you don't bang it around. I do it quite often.
