I have two Bose Revolve+ speakers. If your not familiar, the speakers offer a choice of bluetooth audio, 3.5mm aux, and USB Micro-B 2.0. The speakers sound great in bluetooth "stereo" mode. I was curious and connected one of the speakers to my 2017 MBP with a USB Type-C to Micro-B 2.0 cable, and I really like the sound.

If I connect both Bose Revolve+ speakers to my MacBook Pro USB-C ports with USB Type-C to Micro-B 2.0 cables, is there a way to tell my Mac to send left audio through one USB-C port, and right audio through another USB-C port? I mostly listen to Music, TV, and Movies through iTunes.

I believe you do that in Audio Midi Setup. It's in your Utilities folder.

Thats what I thought, however, I can't see how its done. With one of the speakers connected via USB to my Mac, in the Audio Midi Setup app, it shows "Bose Revolve+ SoundLink" on the left. If I connect a second speaker via USB, it should also show up. But I can't see how I could make one output left audio and the other output right. I haven't ordered a second cable to connect the other Revolve+ because I want know for sure if this will work.

I haven't got a similar setup to try it on. But I think you select the left speaker, and then set the sound to only include the left channel. Do the opposite for the right speaker. You can test it with one speaker by just setting the output to the left or right channel. The channels may be identified as 1 and 2.

I'd think there are a few ways of doing it, but the MIDI utility allows you to create a group of speakers and in fact very precisely locate them. It doesn't just support left and right, but also specific placement, as in "This is a tad more left than this is right relative to centre"

Got it, I see that. I think I'll order a second cable today and give it a try. I'll be sure to report back for others that might want to know if this will work. Thank you for the help everyone.

It definitely works :) The second USB Type-C to Micro-B 2.0 cable arrived today and I connected both Bose Revolve+ speakers to my Mac. With the Audio MIDI Setup app I was able to create an "aggregate device" and set one speaker to be left and one to be right, just what I wanted. Everything works perfect, and the sound is awesome.

Superb! I'm glad it was a success for you!
