I want to set up 2 wireless mice, one for home, one for the office. I know I'll need 2 dongles, etc. Is there any problem, or does OSX do this pretty automatically.

You should have no problems really. You could even use them both at the same time :p
 
Another option you could try is using 1 wireless mouse and the other being a bluetooth mouse (if your mac is capable of receiving bluetooth) such as apples might mouse or logitechs v470, the benefit of bluetooth over wireless is the absence of a usb dongle. all there is is the mouse and mac.
