My magic mouse was giving me issues. It was intermittently not enabling me to navigate side to side. I called Apple since I'm still under AppleCare and they sent me a replacement one.

If I click on Set up Blue Tooth, turn off the old mouse then turn on the new, it will detect the new mouse but the it never connects and I cannot move the cursor. I'm also challenged because, without a connected mouse, I cannot maneuver anywhere...

Am I doing something wrong? Is it because my imac is used to the old mouse and needs to be reset?

I'm sorry if this is a dense question but I've been futzing around with this for over a half hour....

Thanks

While the computer is looking for the mouse during the Bluetooth setup, quickly turn the switch off and back on again. This can sometimes bump it into behaving correctly.
