I use Gmail. On my iPhone 14 when I receive a new Gmail it shows a notification but makes no sound. However, on my Apple watch if plays a chime every time I receive a new Gmail. I want it to silently vibrate on receipt of the new Gmail. How do I set this up?

Someone else can correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think there's a way to do this just for the Mail app. You'd have to put your watch in "Silent Mode" (swipe up from bottom of AW screen and tap the bell icon so it turns red with a slash through the bell), which means all notifications would be haptic only (no sound).

If your iPhone 14 is not making a sound when you receive new email notifications, I'm guessing you have that mail account specifically set up under Settings > Notifications > Mail > Customize Notifications to not have an alert tone. However, I don't think the AW abides by those settings, only the iPhone.

As usagora said, slide up from the bottom of your AW, find the bell icon and turn it off. That’s exactly how I have mine setup. Also I have no sound on my iPhone as well, just notifications. This way you’ll get notified by vibration on your watch when anything comes in. It has worked really well for me this way.

I just checked the Watch settings. It does look like it’s for all accounts like @usagora said. For what it’s worth my Watch is always in silent mode.

Can do by account: Watch app > Mail > Custom. Then AccountName > Sound and toggle off.
