I have two iphones
a new iphone 6 and an old 4S

both are active
when I text from my 4S,
the iphone 6 will receive a text from "my email" sent to "my email"

well I turned off imessages but now I can't send a text to ANYONE with an iphone.

this is so stupid, I think they are trying to force me to register another apple ID account.

SMS texting is ON and works to my HTC android phone but I cannot text anyone with an apple product through my phone service.
