How do I stop the pitch from changing when I speed up/slow down in iMovie HD?

So, I'm using the speed up/slow down effect in iMovie HD/06 and while the video renders, the audio plays without a difference in pitch. Once it finishes rendering, the pitch changes. Is there a way to stop the pitch from changing like that? I have tried using the pitch changer audio effect, but that doesn't revert the audio back to normal pitch. If anyone has used Windows Movie Maker in vista and used the speed up/slow down effect, this is what I'm looking to do.
