I want to be able to sync my flash drive to a folder on my Mac (running Leopard). So say if I work on a Word document on another Mac or PC it will recognize the update and sync my files. I would like something smart enough to realize what has been created, added, or edited so that it doesn't copy all of my files back and fourth every single time. I need something reliable as well. I can't afford to be losing files. Thanks for any help.

The only thing I can think of is some sort of automator or apple script. Doubt a folder action would work due to the whole disk mounting thing so basically I think you're stuck using drag and drop looking at the date modified.

i think that rsync would be able to do this for you. but i think there are gui-based apps that acts as a wrapper.

Yeah, there is a merge app that comes bundled with the developer tools/xcode. It isn't quite as automatic as just sticking the usb drive in and letting it go, though.
