How do I sync contacts?

I have a MacBook Pro and iPhone 13 both synced. My iPad gets messages but I’ve had it for a while but there’s no names. How do I make them sync? All my messages are there. Just no contacts.

Contact app on both devices show the same info?

Did you sync the contacts? Go to iCloud settings and enable the Contacts option by turning on the switch beside it.

Same issue myself I have tried a few things with no luck. Seems like it should be simple but something is not quite right.
