I have a lot of songs on my MacBook in the folders:-

<My ID>/Music/Amazon Music/
<My ID>/Music/iTunes/iTunes Media/
<My ID>/Music/iTunes/iTunes Music/

At the moment I have lots of music on my iPhone and none on my iPad. I don't know how that happened. The songs on my iPhone are the songs that are checked in iTunes. I don't know why the checked songs haven't synced to the iPad as well. Not that I want them to.

I sync my iPhone and my iPad by connecting them to my MacBook. How do I control which songs to sync to the iPhone and which to the iPad?

When I Googled for this I came upon horrible explanations involving creating different music libraries. Can it be that complicated?

Any suggestions or pointers gratefully received.
