How do I take a still shot from a video?

I have a few videos in Iphoto that I want some stills from, how do I do that? I have been at it for an hour trying and cant fugue it out. Thanks...

Easiest way:

1. Pause the video where you want it.

2. Take a screen cap.

You can also take video stills in VLC. This will ensure there is no loss of resolution or other data.
