I called apple care because I had an adapter issue and asked her how to calibrate the battery. She told my to charge it to 100% and then let it die down and shut off. Then charge it to 100% again. She told me not to worry about the time line they tell you to follow at the apple site. I did it and am wondering how to tell if I did it right. Thanks for any help!

just do these steps, and you are already calibrating it correctly

1. charge your MBP/MB untill the indicator stated it's 100% or the light turned green

2. leave it charging for 2 or 3 more hours ( you can continue using your Mac during this step )

3. unplug the adapter, and start using it with the battery power

4. keep using it until a message of low battery warning appears, usually the warning appears on the last 5 minutes ( you may continue to use your MAC, but start saving anything you are working on )

5. after sometimes, it will go into the auto sleep mode, close the lid, and leave it for another 1 or 2 hours

6. now you can recharge your battery again

hope this helps

I check the battery health before and after the calibration. That is how you know it works.
