How do I Test my HD?

well with my other threads about vibrating issues i jsut wanted to know if theres any sort of 'test' i can do to see ifi my hard drives ok

everythings running fine and boot speed etc is actually faster
but is there something i can do 'officially' test my hd?

Disk Utility does a pretty good check. There are undoubtedly 3rd party apps that will do it more thoroughly.

would i have to do this via. booted up from the leopard disk?

You can check the drive you booted up on, but you can't repair it. If it needs repair, you'll need to boot from another drive.
