I've been suffering from some font-related annoyances recently and I just want to trash the lot of them and reinstall the ones that are bundled with Snow Leopard. What's the proper procedure for doing this to ensure that all the fonts currently on my system get blown away?

I'm assuming that the reinstall will involve using Pacifist to extract the fonts from the SL install disc.

Before attempting such drastic surgery, have you at least used Font Book to find and resolve duplicate fonts and validate (and delete defective) fonts? You can also disable fonts you feel you will never need. Finally use a program line Onyx to flush the font caches.
