iPod touch How do i transfer itunes library from my old computer to the new computer?

I recently bought a new laptop. My old one i no longer use. How do i transfer my data and have it appear on the ipod as it was. I do not wish to alter anything or rearrange my files.

first thing u gotta do is back up ur all itunes contents (User-music-itunes)
then paste it in ur new computer then double click the itunes library
(itunes-itunes library)

I did that...
There was a question mark next to all my songs. I'm assuming their location was not found as ofcourse it is a new computer and they aren't there.
The applications were also lost. Do i have to re-download them all?

Step by step directions for both windows and mac, directly from Apples website. I've done it many times, works like a charm.

i use to just always get a 12GB USB Drive and transfer it that way..lol..but im sure its easier ways
