my 12 mini is here and I’m using it. My 11 pro is going to decluttr. I have a year left on my AppleCare. How do I transfer it to my new 12 mini?

I’m pretty sure you don’t since it’s tied to a device UDID / Serial number.

It’s transferable i just know of only doing at the apple store as I hand one device in for another. Doing it this way I’m unsure.

You can’t transfer it. If you cancel it on your old device Apple will refund you what is left on that policy. Apple Care is different amounts for different devices... in store or online, it’s non transferable as stated in the terms.

You then take out a new monthly/up-front plan on the new device.

Apple’s process is so painful when it comes to cancelling it. I did it yesterday on my iPhone 11 Pro Max and it took an hour and a half. I wish you could manage it like a subscription and cancel it through the App Store.

Its transferable to another person. Just ask for a refund of the unused portion and buy a new plan for the mini.

You can, you pay it month to month and cancel when you no longer want it directly from your phone.

You can't transfer AppleCare plus from device to device, only ownership. You'll need to contact AppleCare customer support and ask for a prorated refund.
