How do i transfer my texts/calendar to the 4S?

So I bought the phone today, brought it home, synced the old 4, then synced the 4S and it did not bring over my text messages or calendar history both past and present. Does anyone know how I can fix this? Thanks!

If you restore from backup it should bring all of those along. They will not come along if you set up as a new phone and sync.

Same problem. so can I go back and redo my 4s set up? or is it too late?

all of my calendar entries had gone (always backed up to computer)

i have managed to get some back (not all) by syncing with icloud.

it's very annoying!
