How do I transfer Outlook contacts from iPhone onto home MacBook?

My iPhone synchs my calendar and contacts with Outlook on my work computer (through Microsoft Exchange). The problem is that tomorrow is my last day at work and, once my email account access is closed, I risk losing all of my phone contacts. I attempted to synch my contacts with my MacBook address book tonight through iTunes but it didn't work. Any suggestions on how to (i) get the contacts from my iPhone onto my home MacBook and (ii) re-synch them to my iPhone?
