I got the new iphone, and now i want to give my old one for use as an ipod. It still tells me to activate. Anyone? Thanks

That's strange. When I got my new phone, the old iphone was still usable with no activation as an ipod touch (wifi worked and everything). The only thing was that it said "no service" where the "bars" would be in the upper left corner. You could jailbreak the phone, that would eliminate the activation message and give you the added bonus of installing other apps.
