I have a MBP and I have some Firewire 800 drives daisy-chained in Mac OS. When I boot in to XP via Boot Camp, it sees the drives and tries to access them (but brain farts because XP can't read Mac OS). Is there a way to stop XP from trying to access or even "see" these drives?

You could probably turn off the Firewire 800 port in the Device manager in Windows.

Right click My Computer, click Properties, go to the Hardware tab, hit Device Manager, and disable the IEEE 1934 device. It'll probably turn off both the 400 port at the 800 port.
