I often leave the wifi on because it makes location services more accurate with my 3G connection especially for Foursquare. I find it annoying have to go into the settings to turn it on and off when I need it. Battery life isn't a concern because I have a Mophie battery case.

What really annoys me is when the wifi chip detects a connection, a popup will appear and trys to log into the network or ask me to pick a network to connect to. Is it possible to disable that? I just want to leave wifi on and if I do want to connect to a network, I'll manually do that.

Thanks!

Settings>General>Network>Wi-Fi> Turn off "Ask to Join Networks"

It doesn't quite work. Sometimes the wifi connection will automatically happen and then my browser will pop up asking me to enter login credential. It happens alot when I go to the mall and it asks to login even though I just want to use my 3G connection.

This has been asked many times before. You can't really turn it off. We've been asking Apple to do it for years, just like with timestamping every text message.

If it is connecting to a network that you don't want it to then you need to tell it it disconnect. When that happens open settings, hit WiFi, hit the blue arrow next to the network name, then hit Forget this Network.
