So, I close the lid on my M2 Air, and it doesn't go to sleep. I'm not using a power adapter, strictly battery. Nothing I do causes the M2 to sleep. The battery drains like it's awake and my router states that my M2 is actively connected to the network (I'm thinking about doing a packet capture too). Also, when I open the lid it's already at the login screen before I can even get it part way open. This only started with the new macOS 15 update. Any ideas on how to fix this?

Restart the Mac, it usually reset strange things.

If the problems hapoens again, I would definitely make a bigger effort.

even if it were sleeping it'll still be connected to wifi.

1. restart it - might sort out any strange behaviour

2. clean install MacOS - if it's a stubborn software bug

3. take it to Apple - because it's probably faulty

I had an Intel MBA that did this - perhaps a totally different problem, but I never really solved it so my workaround was to turn Wifi off at night to minimise the drain.
