Hello!

I hoping someone can help me here...

I was just given a Sony cybershot DSC-T1, i took pictures on it today, and now sitting at my computer, i seem to be stuck on how to upload the pictures.

With the camera i was given two cds - a "DSC-T1 firmware Update, PictBridge Function" and a "ImageMixer IMX"
The instruction book says i need to startup the cd on my computer before i can plug in the usb cable from my camera.
However, which cd? I assumed it was the ImageMixer, but when trying to open the "startup" icon it comes up with - "You cannot open the application 'setup menu' because it is not supported on this system"

So do i even need to upload a cd? other forum comments haven't mentioned this cd, and have gotten success by just plugging in the usb cable - which i tried, nothing happened and no icon on my desktop opened...

I also tried changing my camera's setup to PTP usb connect, as i read this may also be whats wrong...however this didnt work either....

I have tried my best on investigating how to do this, and now Im totally clueless on what do now! If someone had any advice or help, I would be so grateful!

Thank you!!

You likely don't need to install the Sony software. Try connecting the camera, or the card with a card reader, and importing with iPhoto, or Image Capture (those are Apple applications).

I checked out a couple of reviews of that camera and the reason the software is not working is that only PC compatible software is provided with it, so you have no software installation necessary.

It is supposed to feature "auto connect" with USB, so I would echo jimmytron's suggestion to connect it and start up Apple's Image Capture program in your Applications folder and see if that doesn't help out. At least that would help troubleshoot if it was specifically an iPhoto import problem.

Please

Can you help me please ? :( I'm out of memory in my camera and my mom said to delete them or upload them but i don't want to delete them they are memories :(

I have a number of Sony DSC model cameras. All you need to do is connect the camera to the USB cable and import via iPhoto. iPhoto should open as soon as the camera is plugged in and turned on.

Edit: That camera needs a USB cradle. You put the camera in the cradle and then plug it into the computer's USB port. The owner's manual is here: http://www.retrevo.com/support/Sony-DSC-T1-Digital-Cameras-manual/id/200ci952/t/2/
