I want to convert some home videos to a digital format. I have a Kworld RCA-to-DVD adapter that was purchased from Fry's Electronics in Las Vegas. I want to know how to make iMovie see the adapter as a camera. However, the software it comes with only works on Windows.
I saw a video of a Windows user who did not appear to have the software it came with installed on his computer. Instead, he used some third-party tool to capture the video. This led me to believe that the Mac might see the adapter as a camera. However, I could not see the adapter when I went to select the adapter in the "Import from Camera" dialog box. I didn't connect anything else besides the USB cable. Therefore, it must be wrong to assume that one can import video from a VHS just by connecting the adapter to the VCR and the Mac.
